About

Presented by The Wheeler Centre & The Round

Author Jane Harrison’s work has captivated audiences globally, earning her international acclaim for plays including Stolen and Rainbow’s End. With an impressive body of work and a deep commitment to promoting and developing First Nations perspectives – Harrison has established herself as an essential voice in the Australian cultural landscape.

Harrison’s most recent work The Visitors reimagines the past through a radical retelling of the events of 26 January 1788 from a First Nations perspective. Premiering on stage in 2020 as part of the Sydney Festival, The Visitors has since evolved from a play into a novel and an opera.

In this wide-ranging and frank conversation with host Daniel James, Harrison discusses the story’s journey across artforms and sheds new light on this critical moment from Australia’s past.

This in-conversation event is the perfect opportunity to hear more insights into the award-winning production of The VisitorsProduced by Moogahlin Performing Arts and Sydney Theatre Company and presented at The Round on 26 and 27 July.
