About
Blackburn High School proudly presents Jazz after Dark—an inspiring evening of live music showcasing one of Australia’s premier school jazz programs. Renowned for their artistry, energy, and musical excellence, Blackburn High School’s Jazz Ensembles will take to the stage with a vibrant mix of big band classics and contemporary favourites.
Audiences can look forward to timeless works by legendary jazz icons including Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Buddy Rich, performed with the sophistication and flair that has become a hallmark of the program. The night will also feature modern repertoire from a range of Australian and international composers, offering a dynamic balance of tradition and innovation.
Jazz after Dark is more than a concert—it’s a celebration of the students’ dedication and passion throughout the year. This performance also marks the ensembles’ final local appearance before they travel to South Australia to take part in the prestigious Generations in Jazz festival, one of the nation’s most significant youth jazz events.
Whether you’re a jazz enthusiast, a supporter of young musicians, or simply seeking an unforgettable night out, Jazz after Dark promises an evening filled with exceptional talent, rich musicality, and the unmistakable spirit of live jazz.
Join us at The Round for a performance that will delight, inspire, and set the tone for an exciting tour ahead.
