About

Presented by Donburn Primary School

Eureka tells the story of four children, Maddy, Tom, Ellen and Emin who are from culturally different backgrounds. By luck and circumstance the children all happen to meet on the goldfields of Ballarat in 1854. Despite being forbidden by their parents to mix, the four children become firm friends against the backdrop of the events leading up to the Eureka Stockade Battle. With Lola Montez causing havoc along with pesky bushrangers the children have plenty of adventures together. Their loyalty is tested when the friends find out that Maddy is a daughter of a dreaded policeman. When John and Ellen’s father is shot in the rebellion it is Maddy that saves his life and proves once and for all that she is a loyal friend forever.
